Volleyball team winds down summer with big win at Granger tournament

It may not count for much now, but the tournament win by the Goldendale Gold team last weekend at least sends a message to the SCAC that Goldendale is a team to contend with. The Spartan Mid-Summer Classic volleyball tournament in Granger was a sneak preview into the upcoming SCAC season.

Goldendale began pool play with a 2-0 win over Grandview. Their next opponent, Kiona-Benton got by Goldendale in three games, 2-1. The final match on Friday was a 2-1 Goldendale win over league rival, Zillah. While the teams may not have included complete rosters that will hit the floors this fall, those who competed will likely be on those high school teams.
