Seems like a small vote, but it has a huge impact

 


On Monday, August 15, the Klickitat County Planning Board will be having a vote on whether to approve a re-zoning of roughly 8.5 acres in Dallesport. If this seems boring and isolated, please pay attention to the particulars. This vote has the potential to seriously impact the public good of our county.

The subject property is a parcel of land in a small town in rural unincorporated Klickitat County. The smallness of the parcel is part of the problem. The proposed subdivision of land owned by Bill Maley constitutes a spot zone and a blatant instance of special interests winning out over public good.
