Wildlife agreement is sound

 


To the Editor:

I am writing to correct the misinformation in Rob Kavanaugh’s recent letter to the editor (8.4.16) regarding the agreement between the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Eastern and Central Klickitat conservation districts to manage the newly purchased Simcoe Mountain unit of the Klickitat Wildlife Area.

Mr. Kavanaugh is wrong when he claims that WDFW lacked the legal authority to enter into the memorandum of understanding (MOU). State law (RCW 39.34.030) clearly authorizes such agreements.
