Goldendale football stars made lasting impression at college

 

ALL RELATIVE: Harold Michael (left) Jacroux and his nephew Ken Jacroux, shown in this picture from The Linfield Review in 1967, were both born in Goldendale. Harold's football career was regularly covered in The Sentinel in the late 1930s.

This story, about a pair of football players from Goldendale who represented strong family ties, ran in The Linfield Review, the Linfield College student newspaper in McMinville, Ore. It was sent to The Sentinel by Tim Marsh. Harold Jacroux's football career was regularly covered in The Sentinel in the late 1930s.

Linfield Football is family. For, example, there's the Jacrouxs.

Harold Jacroux played for Linfield in the 1936 and 1937 seasons for Coach Henry Lever. His nephew, Ken Jacroux, played football in the 1964, 1965, 1966 and 1967 seasons for Coach Paul Durham.

Harold and Ken were born in Goldendale. Ken grew up across the Columbia River from Goldendale in The Dalles.
