Edythe Brown Monroe Vogt

Edythe Brown Monroe Vogt was born on July 31, 1925 to Alva Leroy(Roy) and Mable Day(Brown). She passed away in Salem, Oregon on October 27, 2016 after a long illness. She was 91. Edythe was born in Klickitat, Washington on the old Skookum Ranch. Mom moved away in her early days with her parents. Moving to Hood River, Oregon for a short time. They moved back to the Firwood area near Goldendale, Washington to farm. In her teens she met our father(Delbert(Kelly) Monroe). They married and lived in Reno, Nevada. When Dad returned from

the service they settled back in Klickitat where Dad was also raised. They both worked in the Box Factory. In later years before her retirement she did the clean up for the Klickitat mill. Mom continued to live in Klickitat over 50 years. She was devoted to her family and was always so happy to have them come and visit. She loved crocheting afghans for her family and loved word find books. She also loved to visit Facebook to look at her family and friends pictures. Mom traveled to Arizona for over 20 years. She later lived with her daughter in Goldendale for over 15 years. She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, her sisters(Geneva Ward, Vina Mae Springer, Vena Mae Williams) and brothers(Keith Brown and Orris Brown). Her husband Delbert (Kelly) Monroe and second husband Howard Vogt. She is survived by her Son, James Monroe of Lisbon Falls, Maine; daughter, Delberta League, Salem, Oregon; daughter Jodi Porozni, Portland, Oregon; her sister Rita Stratton of The Dalles, Oregon. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren , great great grand children, nieces and nephews. She will have a memorial at a later date.
