Teams advance to District

The Klickitat-Glenwood high school basketball teams advanced to district play last week. Both the boys and girls teams lost their first round games, but they boys stayed alive as they beat the Bickleton Pirates in the second round. The girls team, however, lost to the Pirates in the second round. The boys district play came to an end with a loss to Sunnyside Christian on Saturday. We appreciate the dedication of the Glenwood members of the teams who made the long drive to Klickitat almost daily for practices to be part of this great team. You had a great season and our community is proud of you.

Now our high school and middle school athletes are looking forward to track season. Practices begin Feb. 27.

Glenwood School will have a half day on Friday, Feb. 17 to make up for a half day previously canceled due to weather. There will be no school on Monday, the 20th, in observance of Presidents’ Day.

Missoula Children’s Theater rehearsals will begin on Monday, Feb. 27. The Glenwood students will present their play on Friday, March 3 at 7 p.m. Mark your calendars for a fun evening.

The Glenwood Rodeo Association had its first planning meeting of 2017 last Sunday. The 2016 queen, Chloe Godwin, was introduced and thanked for representing the Ketchum Kalf Rodeo so well throughout the year. Chloe’s successor, Queen Calista, was introduced. She will be representing the Ketchum Kalf Rodeo at various rodeos in the area this year, in addition to presiding over our own rodeo on Father’s Day weekend in June.
