Travis Alert Act on the move

House Bill 1258, known as the "Travis Alert Act," received approval in the House Judiciary Committee yesterday. The legislation now advances to the House Appropriations Committee.
Rep. Gina McCabe, the bill's sponsor, said she's hopeful this is the year the bill will be enacted into law.
"I originally sponsored the Travis Alert Act last year but it timed out in the Senate before lawmakers could take a final vote and send it to the governor for approval," said McCabe, R-Goldendale. "This is going to be the year. I'm committed to working with lawmakers in both chambers to ensure this bill makes it all the way through the legislative process."
