We will miss them

March 22, 2017

This week’s news about the Lyle School Superintendent seems to be pretty sad. Yes, very sad indeed.

The Celebration Center was jammed full of family and friends for our beloved Joyce Bryan last Thursday. Yet it was barely over when we lost another of our long time residents; Larry Hart passed away, due to a long battle with cancer. To honor his wishes, he was buried in a private ceremony consisting of a few friends and family. He will be missed by many, especially members of the local Sundowners R.V. Club.

The Twin Bridges Museum will host the Annual Lyle Clean Up on Saturday April 8. The gates to the school bus parking area, downtown Lyle, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a good time to get that attic, basement, barn and backyard ‘Spring Cleaned’ and checked off your “To-Do List”. The board has recently voted to have a small admission fee and is holding a membership drive to help keep the doors open and the climate controlled for all the pioneer treasurers that have been donated over the years. Members will have a year’s free admission. Be sure to look for those doors opening the first Saturday in June and lasting through September. This is a win-win situation and they’ve made it easy to pick up those membership applications: request them from a board member or find them readily available at the clean up.
