KETCHUM KALF: Centerville's Morgan Jane Coyne Looks to rope a calf on Sunday in Glenwood

There were a handful of area cowboys and girls that were able to come away with money earning finishes at the 83rd annual Ketchum Kalf Rodeo that ran last Friday through Sunday in Glenwood.

The rodeo featured a full slate of events and was the second Northwest Professional Rodeo Association sanctioned rodeo in as many weeks in Klickitat County after last week's Alder Creek Pioneer Rodeo in Cleveland.

Goldendale's Tanner Bradley was the big winner among local competitors throughout the weekend, outlasting the field and finishing on top of the competition in the bull riding event. His 85 points while riding Ranger Tough edged Redding's Jordan Spears (83) and Bradley $760 while doing so.

Two more Goldendale cowboys, Austin Bast and Jim Jack Davenport, both qualified in the cow milking to finish second and third place in the event that makes competitors catch and milk a cow and run the bottle of milk to a judge all under 60 seconds.

There were only three qualifiers in the event, with Bast finishing in second at 52.5 seconds and earning $530.10 while Davenport took home $353.40 for the third place showing in 54.1 seconds.

Last week in Cleveland, Centerville's Cole Cameron was the lone qualifier in the cow milking, but over the weekend was one of two teams with a Centerville and Goldendale cowboy to earn money in the team roping event.

Cameron, as the header with Goldendale's Justin Bowman as the heeler, just finished in the money at sixth place and both pocketed $146.06.

Finishing directly above them in the standings was another combined team of ropers from Goldendale and Centerville. Header Curtis Kayser and heeler Mike Thiele finished in fifth at 7.5 seconds and earning $262.91 along the way.
