Drug free run coming up

August 9, 2017

The Coalition for Preventing Abuse in Klickitat County is hosting its 11th annual Drug-Free Walk/Run on Saturday in an effort to celebrate sobriety and wellness in the county.

The run starts at 9 a.m. Saturday morning at the Court House lawn in Goldendale, with registration taking place an hour earlier at 8. There is no fee for registering for the run.

After the walk/run, the coalition will also have a few more activities for the participants to take part in.

Starting at 10 a.m. after the run, participants and supporters will be able to paint rocks or a mural along with other art activities.

There will also be recovery speakers in attendance to talk and inspire about their paths to sobriety.

Last year’s run took place in October, so it should be a little warmer at the event this year.

The Coalition for Preventing Abuse in Klickitat County (formerly the Klickitat County Drug Awareness Team and Relationship Abuse Prevention Program) meets on the second Thursday of each month at Pete’s Pizza from noon to 1 p.m. and everyone is invited.
