Horse playday wraps up

September 27, 2017

The Klickwood volleyball team traveled to White Swan last Saturday to compete in the White Swan Tournament. The Klickitat and Glenwood girls’ team made it to the championship round and finished second out of six teams. Way to go, Klickwood, you have made your communities proud.

Gavin Bensel, Anthony Avila, and Frank Lorton competed in youth football games in Stevenson over the weekend and seem to be thoroughly enjoying their season. Check with their moms for games in White Salmon. These great young athletes would love to have a big Glenwood cheering section.

Joslyn and Blain Arnold, children of Bo and Casey Arnold, and Jocee and Jentry Hoctor, children of Jaecee and Josh Hoctor, competed in final horse playday of the season at the West Klickitat Saddle Club. Also competing were Shane and Laney Scott, grandchildren of Mike and Marilyn Scott and Oop and Diane Burgin, Lexi, Kinley and Kately Peterkin, also grandchildren of Mike and Marilyn Scott, and Riley and Bailey Rickman, grandchildren of Terry and Ed Arnold. All the cowgirls and cowboys received nice awards at the closing program and are looking forward to next summer’s playday season.

Don’t forget the fall bazaar on Saturday, Oct. 14. Sign up for a table to sell your woodworking, quilting, sewing, photography cooking, crafts, and whatever else you might like to sell. There is no charge for a table. There will be breakfast and lunch goodies for sale.

Proceeds from the kitchen will go to the Glenwood Band to purchase percussion instruments. Please come support the band. These kids have really been getting into their music under the direction of Jennifer Hallenbeck, and your support would be greatly appreciated. To reserve a table, contact Jennifer at (509) 364-3517 or
