November 22, 2017

On Nov. 17, Timothy Knight of Klickitat was arrested in Goldendale for multiply burglaries, a stolen vehicle, and two vehicle prowls. Knight is also under investigation for suspicion of arson of a camp trailer. Knight committed all these crimes in a two day time period.

On Saturday, Nov. 18 at about 4 p.m., Officer Shelton responded to the 300 block of West Allyn Street on a report of a camp trailer on fire. As Officer Shelton was responding, the suspect, Timothy Knight, stole a vehicle from the residence and fled in the stolen vehicle. The fire was put out and it was quickly determined that the fire was suspicious and also the residence had been burglarized. A short time later, Officer Lucatero was able to recover the stolen vehicle a few blocks away. The Goldendale Police analyzed the crime scene and quickly got a suspect list.

A few hours later at about 8 p.m., Officer Leo Lucatero and Officer Mike Kenny responded to a burglary in progress in the 500 block of West Court Street. The owner of the residence while returning home confronted Knight in his residence. The residence owner and Knight had a scuffle and then Knight went out the door. While Knight was fleeing, the owner of the residence used a firearm and shot one time into the ground. The area was checked by law enforcement but the suspect could not be located.

The next day, on Nov. 19 at about 8 a.m., the Goldendale Police got a call of a vehicle prowl in progress in the 400 block of West Burgen Street. With the assistance of the Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Hunziker of the Goldendale Police was able to arrest Timothy Knight. Timothy Knight was found with stolen items from the different thefts and was positively identified by two different witnesses. The Goldendale Police recovered most of the stolen property as Knight stashed the stolen property in a residence inside the city limits of Goldendale.

After continued investigation, the Goldendale Police Department was able to solve other burglaries and thefts that Knight was responsible for. This includes a burglary in the 300 block of West Court Street, a burglary in the 300 block of West Allyn Street and another vehicle prowl in the 400 block of West Burgen Street. Timothy Knight was booked into the local jail. Goldendale Police have submitted following charges: four counts of felony burglary, one count of vehicle theft, one count of felony theft 2, one count of theft 3 and three counts of vehicle prowls. The fire to the camp trailer is still under investigation as a possible arson.

The Goldendale Police Department is still investigating at this time another burglary and other thefts that they believe Knight could be responsible for.

The Goldendale Police Chief states, “Anybody with further information on any thefts that occurred between Friday, Nov. 17, and Sunday morning, Nov. 19 should call the Goldendale Police Department with the information”.
