Christmas Eve service at Church

December 20, 2017

The Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be held at the Pioneer Memorial Community Church Dec. 24 at 7 p.m.

The families and friends of the Glenwood students enjoyed a great Christmas concert last Wednesday. The children were dressed in their best and sang many songs, performed in their drum line, and listened to Mrs. Gimlin read “The Night Before Christmas” to them. The tiniest little preschooler was able to turn one of the preschool numbers into a hip-hop dancing opportunity, to the great enjoyment of the audience. The middle school and high school band impressed the audience with their talent. Some have been in band for a few years and some have only just begun, but they sounded wonderful. Our community is fortunate to have Jennifer Hallenbeck as music teacher for all grades. Following the program, the Glenwood Homemakers served a delicious array of cookies, along with hot cocoa. The children had an opportunity to visit Santa and let him know what they would like this year.

The Glenwood school students started their Christmas vacation break yesterday. Drivers, please be cautious as there may be children riding bikes or walking in the downtown area. We hope all the students and staff enjoy their vacation to the fullest.

The Klickwood basketball teams will be playing in a tournament in Helix, Oregon, on Dec. 21 and 22. Good luck, Klickwood.

Congratulations to Mark and Ruth (Putnam) Vorce on the arrival of their beautiful little daughter Caroline Elizabeth on Nov. 25. Caroline weighed in at 7 lbs. 14 ounces and was 20 inches long. The lucky Glenwood grandparents are Nate and Betsy Putnam. Congratulations, Mark and Ruth. Glenwood Rodeo Association is happy to gain a new member.

We wish all our readers a very merry Christmas and most joyous holiday season.
