Free eye care clinic coming

January 24, 2018

On Saturday and Monday of President’s Day weekend, there will be a free eye clinic for people who do not have vision insurance coverage and who do not have the financial means to obtain the eye care they need.

The Goldendale Lions Club will screen applicants for eligibility by a set of standards they have used for many years. Members of the Leadership Club at Goldendale High School will do patient pre-testing and will help check finished glasses for accuracy. Dr. Jim Ogden will complete the exams and a generous local citizen will pay the optical lab costs of the glasses that are prescribed. Ogden has been given a large quantity of new but discounted frames by an import company in Pullman, Washington, as well as by the prison industries optical lab at Airway Heights prison near Spokane. An ample frame selection will be offered. There is no charge for the exam or basic glasses.

Exams for this program will be conducted on Friday and Monday of President’s Day weekend (Feb. 17 and 19) at Ogden’s office at 103 W. Main St. Applications for this clinic are available at the same location. Call 773- 4114 for further information.
