Local connection to Erin's Law

When Governor Jay Inslee recently affixed his signature to House Bill 1539, "Erin's Law," it was a major victory in Washington's battle against Childhood Sexual Abuse. What isn't widely known: the legislation creating Washington's version of Erin's Law got its initial start in Klickitat County.

Olivia Holderman, currently living in Goldendale, had been sexually abused as a child. She didn't understand what was happening at that young age but she knew it was inappropriate. It took her almost six decades to be able to openly deal with the experience.
