The Goldendale golfers were in action preparing for the postseason Tuesday afternoon for their last regular season match of the season at the Goldendale Gold Club, where junior Luke Gerchak shot a season-best 79.

Golfers from league rival La Salle along with South Central Athletic Conference East school Wahluke also were competing in Goldendale on Tuesday.

Gerchak led the field with his 79 while junior Logan Quantrall came in third overall with a 98, trailing La Salle's Ethan Breymeyer by two strokes.

Jasper Randall came in third for the Timberwolves with his 18-hole total of 112 and Riley Seaver was fourth with a 121. Dane O'Leary (124) and Andrew Ihrig (128) rounded out Goldendale's group.

La Salle only had two golfers on Tuesday, and the top four golfers from the Wolves outshot the top four from Wahluke.

Tuesday's match marked the last regular season contest of the season, with sub districts only a week later.

Next Tuesday, all teams from the SCAC will be at the Sage Hills Golf Course in Warden for the girls sub district tournament. Sub districts for the boys will be two days later on May 10 at the same location.

After both sub district tournaments, boys and girls districts will be held on May 17 at the Prospector Golf Course in Cle Elum starting at 8:30 a.m.

On April 24, three Goldendale boys got a preview of the sub district course when they were in Warden along with Highland and Naches.

Gerchak led the field of 15 boys with an 18-hole total of 86, while Randall (121) and Ihrig (126) following behind.

Last year at subs, Gerchak shot an 86 to advance to districts, and later reached the state championships where he finished tied for 26th with a two-day total of 167.
