Only months after graduating from Goldendale High School, Egan Lawyer is now in the Klickitat County Jail, charged with Reckless Driving after nearly running a motorist off the road going up the Maryhill Grade on Highway 97 last week.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the youth apparently became enraged when he saw a vehicle with a Trump flag just after the Biggs Bridge coming up the grade. Lawyer tore after the vehicle, running up close behind it and almost hitting it. The driver, becoming terrified, tried to lose Lawyer. Lawyer kept after it, speeding up and slowing down as it did, coming alongside it, and trying to pass it on a blind curve against a double yellow line to cut it off. When a WSP officer saw the two vehicles, they were doing 90 miles an hour up the grade, the one driver desperately trying to shake Lawyer off.
“He put two lives in great danger,” said arresting WSP officer Mike Wells. Wells arrested Lawyer at Milepost 8.
