According to preliminary data received by NOAA’s National Weather Service in Pendleton Oregon, temperatures at Goldendale averaged slightly colder than normal during the month of October.
The average temperature was 47.8 degrees which was 0.6 degrees below normal. High Temperatures averaged 61.5 degrees, which was 0.9 degrees below normal. The highest was 75 degrees on the 4th. Low temperatures averaged 34.2 degrees, which was 0.3 degrees below normal. The lowest was 19 degrees, on the 13th.
There were eight days with the low temperature below 32 degrees.
Precipitation totaled 0.85 inches during October, which was 0.56 inches below normal. Measurable precipitation -at least .01 inch- was received on 11 days with the heaviest, 0.25 inches reported on the 24th.
Precipitation this year has reached 7.64 inches, which is 3.66 inches below normal.
The outlook for November from NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center calls for near normal temperatures and above normal precipitation. Normal highs for Goldendale fall from 54.0 degrees at the start of November to 40.0 degrees at the end of November. Normal lows fall from 31.0 degrees to 25.0 degrees. The 30-year normal precipitation is 2.73 inches.
