MaryAnn Elizabeth Storkel Gibbs

Born January 31, 1940, the seventh child to Roy Charles and Helen Lorena (Blake) Storkel in Goldendale. Went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on August 22, 2020.

Age 80 years, six months, 22 days; preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill; brothers: Dale, Loren, LeRoy, and Wayne. Surviving siblings: Bob Storkel (Margaret) and Marlene Fenton.

MaryAnn was a devout Christian, accepting Jesus Christ as her personal savior at age 8, and was baptized.

She married William Orin Gibbs on September 22, 1957, at the age of 17. She completed high school by correspondence. She celebrated 56 years and 11 months of marriage before he passed on August 22, 2013.

She is survived by two children Charles Gibbs of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and Jenny Ann Gibbs of Casa Grande, Arizona; three grandchildren, Jenna (Shane Gould Sr.), Melinda (Joshua Gould Sr.), and Ryan W.D. Hagen; and eight great-grandchildren: Joshua Jr, Sasha, Tyler, Anderson, Maximus, Bruce, Charlotte, and Robyn.

MaryAnn worked as an X-ray technician, medical secretary for Dr. Thompson, Goldendale. She was co-owner Operator of The Lighthouse Christian Bookstore with brother Loren and Peggy. She was county treasurer assistant in Grafton, North Dakota. She was a realtor and retail store manager. She was caregiver of Bill through back surgeries and Alzheimer’s.

As a girl she sang with her brothers and sister in church. MaryAnn sang “Ave Maria” in Latin for one of her classmates’ weddings. She loved singing duets with Bill and Marlene, quartets with Bill, Wally, and Marlene. She loved harmonizing singing Gospel songs and Bill Gaither music.  MaryAnn loved the Lord and was a prayer warrior, praying for anyone with a need. MaryAnn loved her church family at Evangelical Methodist, EMC Arizona City. She loved working crossword puzzles, watching court TV programs like “Judge Judy,” TLC family shows, and the Dr. Pol Vet show.

MaryAnn was well loved by everyone, compassionate, and willing to step in and help where needed. We are praising God for her life and rejoicing that she is pain free and with the Lord.
