Patricia Sue (Woodward) Allyn, beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt, passed away September 5, 2020, at the age of 71.
Patti was born August 13, 1949, to Keith and Sue (Guy) Woodward in Goldendale. She spent her childhood there, graduating from Goldendale High School, where she was active in 4-H and Rainbow Girls, in 1967. She lived for a brief time in Portland, Oregon, following graduation but soon returned to Goldendale where she spent the next few years working. It was during this time that she met, and eventually married, James F. Allyn. The couple were married on the lawn at the Maryhill Museum on June 9, 1973. Their only child, Bryce Keith Allyn, was born in July 1974 in Goldendale. They have remained there, raising their son, and operating the family business, until her passing.
Patti was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1975, a disease that she battled with grace and positivity until her death. Despite the toll that MS took on her body, she was never one to complain or feel sorry for herself. She could always be found with a smile on her face and a kind word for whomever she happened to meet. She was an avid supporter of her community, donating her time to groups like the Brighter Goldendale Christmas Committee. She took pride in treating everyone she encountered as an equal, regardless of their background or station in life. She loved her family and friends dearly. Her strength and poise in the face of adversity were an inspiration to all who knew her. Her love and light will be sorely missed in this world.
Patti is preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Sue Woodward; her sister Jan (Woodward) Husby; and niece Karrie Sue (Husby) Healy. May they all rest in peace.
She is survived by her husband James of Goldendale; son Bryce of Seattle, Washington; brother Mike Woodward and his wife Debbie of Glenwood, Washington; and sister Lori (Woodward) Snyder and her husband Mike of Elma, Washington.
No services are planned for this time. A memorial will be scheduled for a later date as Covid restrictions allow.
