Robert Edward Wedgwood, 81, a resident of The Dalles, Oregon, died at OHSU in Portland on May
He was born May 22, 1939, in Goldendale, to Everett C. and Josie (Kloker) Wedgewood. He grew up and attended school with his siblings, Marie and Charlie Wedgwood in Goldendale. Robert served in the U.S. Navy from May 29, 1956, to June 2, 1960, aboard the U.S.S. Helena (CA-75).
He was employed as a conductor with Union Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gold prospecting, and time with his family. Robert could be summed up as loving, smiling, and an adventurer.
He is survived by his children, Kelly Leigh Wedgwood of Longview, Texas, and Tracey Lynn Wedgwood, The Dalles; grandchildren, Jesse King, Sr., Ian Kelm and Briar Kelm; great-grandchild, Jesse King, Jr.; his sister, Marie Lees and her children, Janet E. Brown, Stephen K., and Scott A. Lees; numerous great nieces and nephews and cousins; and his longtime companion and friend, Kathy Schmidt of The Dalles.
He was preceded in death by his son, Troy Michael Wedgwood in 1991; and his siblings, Charlie Wedgwood 1998 and Evelyn Wedgwood, 1938.
Graveside service with Veteran’s rites were held The Dalles Three-Mile Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021. A Celebration of life followed at The Dalles Senior Center from noon to 3 p.m.
