The 2014 Mt Adams Bicycle Tour was another great success with 366 riders safely cycling the beautiful forest and valley routes. A light morning rain and clouds wreathing Mt Adams for much of the day didn't dampen the spirits. On the valley routes the sun broke through for good about 9 a.m., and a warm campfire and hot blue grass music by Lincoln Crockett, Jeff & Erin Nelson and Linda Robertson mitigated the cold showers and fog on the Forest Loop.
The Family Ride hit a new high of 63 riders with several add-on tandem bike "trailers" and even a rare triple tandem keeping families together. It was great to see so many kids mixing with the other riders and having a great time. There were also 82 riders who did only the 51-mile TL-BZ-Glenwood Loop, 83 riders who did only the 54-mile Forest Loop, and 138 riders who did both loops for the 105-mile Infinity Loop ride.
Special thanks the nearly 100 volunteers who helped keep things moving, answered questions, and got the riders going on their happy way.
