‘Tour of the Universe’ at Goldendale observatory


Winter hours are in effect at the Goldendale Observatory, now through the end of March 2011. Visiting hours are 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays through Sundays.

For the month of October, telescope viewing under clear skies should reveal the Moon from Oct. 9 to Oct. 16. and the planets Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune. The new Moon should be visible on Oct. 7. The constellations Pisces, Andromeda and Cassiopeia will be identified and deep sky objects such as a binary star, nebula, star cluster and galaxy in the constellations will be viewed through the telescopes.
