Cougar defense cuts down Logger attack for 22-14 win


Courage, speed, power and deception carried the day for Lyle-Wishram in their 22-14, debut win over Pacific League opponent Wishkah Valley, Saturday. When Henry Matai rumbled 98 yards for a touchdown with 2:41 left in the game, it looked like icing on the cake. But Wishkah Valley had two more chances to score and the Loggers pulled out every formation in their play book, severely testing the Cougar defense until the final pass fell to the turf with 15.6 seconds left in the game.
