Ogden writes on Cambodian medical mission journey


Goldendale optometrist Dr. James Ogden and five others have made their way to Cambodia, arriving in Phnom Penh on Friday, April 22, after a long but uneventful succession of flights. Ogden is there on a medical mission to provide eye correction care for disadvantaged residents in the country.

“We went to the Russian Market where I got a very nice violin for $65. I will be able to play it at church or other places where it seems appropriate,” wrote Ogden in an email he sent to The Sentinel and to friends and family.

On their first day of clinic, Ogden and his group saw 58 patients. “It went well for the first day, which is usually the most difficult,” Ogden stated.
