Elk down near Centerville

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor:

Driving to work from Centerville on Simcoe Mountain Road Tuesday morning about 7:55 a.m., about two miles north of Centerville, I saw a couple of cars stopped. Uh-oh, car trouble? Nope, they stopped to let four elk cross the road to the west. We all stopped and watched the elk run out into the field, where they stopped and turned and stared back at us, staring at them.

I’ve lived here all my life and have never seen elk down this low.
