Pair of 5-0 wins prep tennis for sub-district

SMASH: Casey Wilhite takes advantage of a soft shot at the net to slam a point home against Cle Elum-Roslyn. Wilhite and his partner, Zach Shattuck won 6-0, 6-0.

Goldendale had an easy workout leading up to the tennis sub-districts with a pair of 5-0 wins over visiting Cle Elum-Roslyn, Saturday.

The boys had it particularly easy as the Warriors forfeited two matches. Keith Bighorn was back in the line-up cementing his claim to the number one spot with 6-1, 6-0 wins over Dillion Shea. Zach Shattuck teamed with Casey Wilhite and Brandon Cline stepped up to pair with Riley Kauffman for a pair of straight set wins. Bobby Koffler and the team of Kyle Wilkins and Patrick Golding won by forfeit.

The girls had to work harder for their shut-out. Kendal Bloom fought through close matches with Karissa Boyd for 7-5, 6-4 victories and Amanda Stelter had two...
