Ned Kayser

Ned Keith Kayser, born March 4, 1958, in Goldendale to Keith and Marguerite Kayser, died in a small plane crash June 11, 2011.

Ned grew up in Centerville and attended Goldendale High School and later Walla Walla Community College. He spent his life actively ranching with his family and running cattle in the Simcoe Mountains and also the Blue Mountains outside of Pendleton, Ore. Some of Ned’s best help when on horseback were his dogs; they were like family to him. Ned had a keen eye for a nice horse and was always well mounted on the ranch or in the rodeo arena, on horses that he had raised and trained. He was well known in the rodeo arena competing in calf roping, cow milking, and in his younger years bull dogging—he was also a frequently requested hazer.

Ned was a devoted father and loved spending time with his daughter, Kelli. He took great pride in watching her compete in sports and especially rodeos. Ned loved his family and had a huge circle of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his daughter Kelli; brothers Nate and Neil; sisters Nancy, Nora, Noma, and Nola; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held June 21, at the Centerville School. Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel handled arrangements. Please sign the online guestbook at
