One last campaign question

 


The Sentinel invited candidates in the local elections who are running opposed to respond to a final campaign question. The three-part question was, “What is the single most important task facing this community (or organization), why is it so important, and what will you do about it when in office?” No word-limit restriction was given, and the responses following (from the candidates who responded) are the candidates’ full answers, unchanged except for minor editing corrections.

It looks like Arletta Patton officially killed her already slim re-election chances by giving the answer she gave. The most important challenge facing Goldendale is code enforcement? Wow. Totally out of touch. Mr. Baze also revealed, albeit untintentionally, that he doesn't actually HAVE a plan for economic development. You know you are in trouble when your elected officials start asking the public if they have any ideas to solve current problems. It means that those representatives do not.
