Narrow victory gives TLG third seed for 1B District

The final seeding for the 1B, District 5 volleyball tournament was decided outright last week when TLG defeated Lyle-Wishram 3-2 to claim third place in the Greater Columbia Gorge League. The outcome was much in doubt until the final game.

The top two seeds for the tournament were settled the previous week when TLG knocked off Sunnyside Christian, and Klickitat beat Lyle-Wishram to give Klickitat another league title. Bickleton and TLG went into this week tied with 3-4 records.

TLG had a strong start at Lyle for a 25-18 win, but some shaky serving in the second game had the match tied at 23. TLG served the ball long to put the Cougars on the verge of winning...
