Living with diabetes, KVH hosts workshop

The ‘Black Tie and Blue Jeans’ event was very successful with a full house, good music, as well as low-lit decorations and good food, plus the dress code ranged from black tie to blue jeans.

It was hard to get an accurate count of Trunk or Treaters on Oct. 29, but Kim Methe from the General Store said there were more than 800 ghosts and goblins of all sorts. There was about $200 collected for next year as well as 220 pounds of canned food for the food bank.

A diabetes patient, Bob Kolenkow, speaks out this Thursday, Nov. 10, at 6 p.m., at KVH Hospital Conference Room A and B.

Kolenkow will share his personal experience of living with diabetes. Kolenkow is a member of the Sanofi-aventis A1C Champions Program, which is a patient-led approach to diabetes education. Bob knows first-hand the challenges and obstacles to maintaining control of diabetes. He will share diabetes self-management and lifestyle strategies.
