GHS students launch programs and awards to honor area veterans

Every November, Americans take a minute to look at the red, white, and blue flag as a reminder that they live in this land with freedom—thanks in no small part to those who served to fight for that freedom.

“Men and women all over our county give up everything to ensure the freedom of complete strangers,” says Raquel Mirza-Hughes, GHS Senior. “As a U.S citizen it’s our responsibility to spend a mere 24 hours honoring these troops, out of respect. A sign of respect is a small price to pay in honor of someone’s life,” says Raquel Mirza-Hughes, GHS Senior.
