GPD receives accreditation award



AN ELITE GROUP: Goldendale’s Police Department received accreditation for meeting a set of standards of operation set forth by law enforcement associations. Goldendale becomes the 51st out of 271 agencies to achieve the strict standards. Pictured receiving the plaque from King County Sheriff and WASPC president Sue Rahr is Lt. Reggie Bartkowski. The Goldendale Police Department is now the 51st agency in the State of Washington to successfully meet the professional standards as outlined by the Washington state sheriffs and police chiefs law enforcement accreditation program.

Governor Christine Gregoire and WASPC President Sue Rahr presented a plaque to five members of the Goldendale Police Department on behalf of the department, at ceremonies held Nov. 16 in Chelan.

Present from the police department were: Chief Rick Johnson, Lt. Reggie Bartkowski, Sgt. Jay Hunziker, Officer Mike Smith, and Administrative Assistant Maria Hutchins.
