Goldendale women to travel to Africa, will teach disabled women


Two Goldendale women, Eva Reynolds and Joyce Chiles, will be flying to Sierra Leone, Africa in March to teach vocational skills to disabled women.

In conjunction with the Women of Hope International non-profit organization, Chiles and Reynolds will teach these women in one of the poorest countries, skills they can use to become independent.

“It’s not a hand out program,” stated Chiles. “It’s a hand-up program.”

They will spend almost two weeks teaching them to sew, knit and make cards. Most of the women they reach out to are forced to go into prostitution and cannot provide for themselves.
