Manhunt produces two of three intruders at Aluminum Plant


Early Friday morning the Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office received a call about three suspicious people at the Aluminum Plant site. Sergeant Joe Riggers responded to the scene at 7 a.m. where the three persons were spotted by a security guard.

While Sergeant Riggers was conducting interviews, two of the subjects fled on foot, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

“Then he called in the troops and the dog,” Detective Sergeant Pat Kaley explained.

By 11 a.m., one subject was arrested on site, and another was located in some blackberry bushes, said Kaley. There is still one subject at large as of 2 p.m.

Why is there so much concern about people being on the property? I thought it was closed several years ago. Who owns the plant at this time and why do people want to trespass on the property?
