Storm and its aftermath show positive responses



The worst of times often bring out the best in people. This past week’s storm made that very clear again.

Down at the PUD on Saturday, during the county-wide power outage, things were hopping. People were on phones everywhere, answering calls one after the other for what seemed forever, as anxious customers checked in on what was happening and how long to expect for power to return. Two large white boards with outages stood in the lobby covered with hastily written information. Some staff were hurriedly trying to arrange for food to get out to all the crews working in the field, especially since almost every food establishment in the county was also without power.
