Arrest made in Dairy Queen employee theft


A Goldendale woman turned herself into police last Wednesday and admitted to stealing money from the Dairy Queen restaurant, according to Goldendale Police.

The police were first notified that a crime may have been committed on March 7, when the restaurant lodged a complaint. Two days worth of cash register receipts amounting to $1,836 plus $400 of register start-up money was missing.

A video from the restaurant showed employee Sarah Matney removing the money and putting it in her purse, which was not unusual as she was responsible for depositing receipts in the bank. However, the deposits never occurred. Matney was asked to stop in and visit with the owner, Chad Ross, when she showed up...
