Rebecca Gourley

Good samaritan, Rich Wadsack, attempts to put out the fire with a garden hose. Officer Dwayne Matulovich (left) was the first to respond.

A trailer that was hitched to a pickup truck caught fire Tuesday afternoon. The truck was parked behind Karma Konsignment at 219 W. Main Street. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Rich Wadsack was first to see smoke coming from the trailer, "I do the maintenance on Sands Apartments. I saw white smoke from behind the bank. A utility trailer was on fire behind the Karma Konsignments. I emptied two fire extinguishers from the apartments. John from Karmas and I hooked up a garden hose then I proceeded to get the fire under control. John pulled the trailer away from the building, then the fire department arrived and finished putting out the fire."
