T-wolves’ hitters wear out Coyote pitcher for second win

RIGHT AT YOU: Haley Hoffman pitched a strong game, but came out on the short end of a 2-1 score in the opener at Columbia-Burbank. The Lady Timberwolves are 2-2 on the year.

The Lady Timberwolves got their second split of the season, defeating Columbia-Burbank 12-4 after dropping the opener 2-1 on Saturday. The games, scheduled for Goldendale, were moved to Burbank due to unplayable field conditions in Goldendale due to the wet weather.

Haley Hoffman pitched a strong game in the opener, going the distance and giving up just two runs in the fourth inning while striking out seven batters and walking three. Allison Hutchins drove in Goldendale’s only run.

The Wolves caught up to Coyotes’ starting pitcher in the second of the two games she pitched, jumping to an early lead and breaking the game open with a five run sixth inning.
