Alice Johnson



Alice A. Johnson was born at home on Drift Creek near Taft, Oregon (now part of Lincoln City) on April 26, 1918, the sixth of nine children born to Esther Rose (Hampton) and Archie Lester Stephens. She married W. Leigh Johnson on August 5, 1938 and lived for several years on a cattle ranch at Silver Creek, West of Burns, Oregon. The couple later lived in various places in Oregon.

Alice was mostly a homemaker and helped in self employed businesses but also worked as a nurses' aide for many years, often helping sick people in their homes. She was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church throughout most of her life.

Mrs. Johnson passed away in Goldendale, Washington on March 21, 2012 at the age of 93. She is at rest waiting for the resurrection of the second coming of Jesus.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years in 2007.

She is survived by her four children, Carol Johnson of Haines, Oregon, Bill Johnson of Tillamook, Oregon, Dan Johnson of Centerville, Washington and Bo Johnson of Falls City, Oregon; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

A family graveside service was held at Silver Creek Cemetery near Riley, Oregon.
