Fire Protective Gear

Lou Marzeles

Tony Browning of Rural 7 fire department demonstrates a fire protection device used to pull over oneself in a fire at the Greater Goldendale Chamber of Commerce business lunch Monday. The device, sometimes jokingly called a “Shake ’n’ Bake, can protect up to a temperature of about 600 degrees. Browning and Leo Spencer from Rural 7 were there to talk about the upcoming Fire Victims’ Auction, to be held this Saturday at the Rural 7 fire hall from 10 a.m. “Bring over your old stuff,” Spencer said, “and buy some new old stuff.” The funds raised all go to support the Fire Victims’ fund. A yard sale, showcasing smaller items, begins at 9 a.m.
