Park fireworks restricted to World War II park


The Goldendale City Council passed an ordinance that limits the use of fireworks in city parks to World War II Park and only from 1 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on July 4. Fireworks cannot be discharged at any other city-owned park at any time of the year.

The ordinance adds to the existing law that says “common fireworks” can only be sold, purchased or discharged between noon on June 28 and noon July 6, with the following exceptions:

1. No selling or discharging common fireworks between 11 p.m. and 9 a.m.

2. On July 4, fireworks can be sold and discharged from 9 a.m. until midnight.
