GHS Robotics team finishes fourth at Nationals



Robot drivers receive final instructions from event coordinator.

Goldendale’s Robotics team ended the first day of competition in 12th position, with a record of 3-0. Although undefeated, GHS was one match behind other undefeated teams, which is why they were ranked so low. At noon on day two GHS was 5-0 and in first place.  

The sixth match was against the second place team, and their alliance partner's robot broke. As a result, the match was lost by two points.  “It was very exciting, but a heart breaker,” according to Matt Merfeld, Robotics team leader. “We rebounded in the seventh match with another win, but lost our eighth match with another broken partner.
