Glenwood school gets solar lab


As summer begins, so does the construction of a solar system at the Glenwood School that will provide a hands on laboratory for students to learn about solar energy and renewable technologies. The project is facilitated by the Mt. Adams Resource Stewards (MARS) and the Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) Solar 4R Schools™ program.

“This new partnership with MARS and the Bonneville Environmental Foundation will provide a whole new level of learning experiences for our students regarding renewable energy,” said Glenwood Superintendent Dr. Shane Couch.

Very excited that a local contractor - Hire Electric - out of The Dalles, with workers in Goldendale, Appleton and Mill A beat out Portland competition to win the installation of this project. Engineering is being submitted today to the building dept. and construction should begin in about 2 weeks.
