City council discussion focuses on property improvement


Monday’s Goldendale City Council meeting was brief but addressed increasing concerns over some city residents who refuse compliance with codes.

During a report from City Administrator Larry Bellamy, a discussion began on citations made on certain properties that have remained defiant of the city’s efforts to get them cleaned up. Bellamy said the process for exercising enforcement is time consuming. Some residents “won’t pick up certified mail from the city,” he said.
