Esther Charlotte Flock (Irwin) passed away July 24th, 2012 in The Dalles, OR at the age of 76. She was born in Stevenson, WA. to Lottie Charlotte Irwin on November 28, 1935. She was raised in Vancouver, WA. by her mother and stepfather William Boyer. She relocated to Wishram WA. where she met the love of her life, Rudy A Flock I, she married him and spent the remainder of her life there.

She loved fishing in the streams of Mt. Adams and the lakes in the northwest. Mushroom hunting in the forest, huckleberry picking, and camping at Oklahoma campground and Saddle Camp were included in some of Mom’s favorite activities to do. Some of her favorite hobbies were painting pictures to decorating her home, and building birdhouses to decorate her yard. She was a lover of gardening and helped develop Wishram’s first community garden. She loved to work in her garden and her green house starting plants from her own seeds. Ed Hume was her favorite gardening author. She once went to the Goldendale Home and Garden show just to hear him teach, and get him to sign her favorite garden book “ Gardening with Ed Hume.”

She enjoyed sitting on her front porch looking at the beautiful view of the Columbia River and visiting with people passing by. She looked forward to visiting with her neighbors while watering her garden and sharing garden secrets.

Some of her greatest memories were made with her husband, children, their families, and at the pinochle table shared with the ladies in Wishram.

Esther was the mother of seven children, grandmother of 23, great-grandmother of 42 and great, great-grandmother of two.

Esther is survived by her husband Rudy A Flock I, her children Rocky and Carrera Chinn of Vancouver, WA, Marcia and Jim Thiel of Pasco, WA, Veda and Dan Charters of White Salmon, WA, Junior and Lynette Chinn of Toppenish, WA, Rudeena Flock of Wishram, WA, and Rudy II and Gloria Flock of Goldendale, WA.

She was preceded in death by her mother Lottie Irwin, stepfather William Boyer, sister Beatrice Morey, brother William Irwin, her daughter Toni Cordle, and great -grandson, Kacey Cordle.

There will be a great void in our hearts due to the loss of our Mom, Grandma, and our friend.

A celebration of her life will be held on August 11, 2012 starting at 1 p.m, at the Lyle Lions Club in Lyle WA., located on Hwy 14, next to Hunsaker gas station.
