Stephen Lawrence



Stephen Roy Lawrence passed away May 24, 2012 in Missoula, Mont., at the age of 58.

He was born in Heppner, Ore., to Charles and Bonnie Lawrence on Sept. 7, 1953. He attended Wheeler High School in Fossil, Ore. After graduation he joined the Army and was stationed in Germany for two years. After his military service, Steve moved to Goldendale, where he was employed by the aluminum plant. He worked at the plant for several years before he found his calling as a crane operator for Bonneville Power Administration. He worked for BPA for the past 15 years up until his time of death.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Charles Allen Lawrence.

He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Claire Lawrence; brothers Charles and Robert Lawrence; his daughter, Jennifer Lawrence, son, Greg Lawrence and his wife, Brittany; grandchildren, Leigh and Chantai Lawrence, Jasmine Wilson, Miranda, Trevor, Ashlyn and Averee Lawrence, and great-grandchild, Aurora Phillips.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held Aug. 25, at 1 p.m., at the New Life Assembly of God church in Goldendale.
