Young Wolves expect to contend again in 2012

As with most years, the fall sports season starts with teams looking at the new faces and perhaps wishing that some of the old faces would return. Goldendale lost some stalwarts, particularly on the defensive side of the football team, but Head Coach Don Strother was fairly upbeat about what he has been seeing in this year’s group of athletes.

“I have high expectations,” said Strother, “with work in practice and at football camp. We don’t have a whole lot of seniors, but I think we will compete.”

Strother expects Cle Elum-Roslyn to be the team to beat again this year and expects a tough team at Zillah. He sees Goldendale in that top three, but cautions that the other teams in...
