Board shuts down Dallesport airport construction


The State Pollution Control Hearing Board has granted a partial stay that has shut down work on the south end of the airport at Dallesport.

Dallesport resident Raymond Clough Jr. had filed an appeal of the Department of Ecology’s decision to grant a permit for work on the airport. Clough had questioned the applications for work that would correct line of sight problems at the airport, add blast pads to the runway ends and change taxiways. Clough’s appeal stated concerns over three wetlands that he believed were either already damaged or were in danger of being damaged by the work on the runway.
