Police in 100-mph car chase


Goldendale Police were involved in a high speed pursuit Sunday night.

The incident started when an officer attempted to stop a car for a minor traffic violation. Instead of stopping, the driver, a 15-year-old male, sped away, leading officers on a chase in town at speeds reaching 80 mph. The vehicle headed south on Columbus Avenue with the Sheriff’s Department joining in the chase, which reached in excess of 100 mph. The vehicle did not make the turn onto SR97; instead it headed straight, leaving the roadway and colliding with farm equipment.
